I was a curiosities beat writer for the Western Front June 2020 - August 2020. My job was to produce news worthy articles about events happening around the Bellingham area. One of the nice things about getting the chance to work on the curiosity beat was I had some freedom on what I wanted to write. Some of my stories were important topics, and others were just fun pieces.
Fall Sports Story
This story focuses on the future of sports during the fall 2020 season. Due to the Covid-19 shutdown, Western Washington University had to make decisions on what they were going to do for the fall season.
Pass/Fail Story
During the beginning of the pandemic, classes at WWU were allowing students to choose from either a pass/fail option or a letter grade option. This story discusses the lack in motivations students faced when it came to pass/fail.
